PickPulse

Pick winners, teams, and turns.

How it works

Everyone puts a finger on the screen at the same time. Once enough fingers are down, the rings fill for five seconds and the phone decides. Adding or removing a finger restarts the countdown, so nobody gets left out of the draw. Lift every finger to play again.

Modes

Winner
Picks one, two, or three fingers at random and dims the rest.
Teams
Splits everyone into two or three balanced teams and recolours each ring to match. Teams never differ by more than one player.
Order
Numbers every finger to set a full turn order, with first place highlighted.

Switch modes with the gear button in the top right.

Common questions

Nothing happens when I put fingers down.
Each mode needs a minimum number of fingers: Winner needs one more than the number of winners, Teams needs one per team, and Order needs two. The panel at the bottom of the screen says how many more are needed.
Can more than five people play?
No. iPhone reports a limited number of simultaneous touches reliably, so PickPulse tracks five and ignores any beyond that.
Is the pick actually random?
Yes. Every round is drawn fresh from the system random-number generator, with no memory of previous rounds and no weighting. There is no way to influence the result by pressing harder or placing a finger first.
The countdown keeps restarting.
That is intentional — any finger joining or leaving restarts the five seconds so late arrivals still get a fair chance. Hold still once everyone is down.
Can I turn off the sound or vibration?
Yes, both are toggles in Settings.
